The Birthday Dress

This is the dress. Emmie helped me shop on the internet for just the right fabric. We ordered it. Then it came in the mail and she was so excited. But I still didn't know which dress I was going to make for her. I decided on using the bodice from the Flower Girl Dress pattern in Weekend Sewing, added button straps and played around with the rest of the dress for the 3-tiered look. The bodice ended up being too wide (since I added about 2 inches to each side on the pattern) so I added a pleat in the front and back, a detail that I love! I'll be using that more. Anyway, the little girl loves it. And so do I.
